David Dirks has worked for MAP since March, 2006 as a Technical Assistance Provider. His responsibilities include assisting small rural communities with water and wastewater issues. He has also taught Missouri Department of Natural Resources approved classes in Drinking Water Distribution Operator Certification and conducted workshops in board and clerks training and wastewater operator Inflow and Infiltration. He is currently certified in wastewater treatment – D and drinking water distribution level – 1. He earned a BA in Economics from Austin College in Sherman, Teas. Mr. Dirks also has over 10 years’ experience as a planner for the local regional planning commission, working with cities and counties to promote solid waste reduction and recycling activities through Missouri’s Solid Waste Management Program. He has also worked in other areas of planning from transportation, hazard mitigation, to housing rehabilitation and another 4 years as the building inspector for the City of Malden, Mo.
