Hope Block
Hope joined Midwest Assistance Program, Inc. in January of 2022 and has been helping communities and tribal nations improve their environment, quality of life, and achieve self-sustainability. Hope has a financial and management background built on a foundation from her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Her financial and management career path began in the banking industry at Wells Fargo Bank, and from there she went on to be the Finance Officer for the City of Groton, South Dakota for nearly five years. As a Finance Officer, Hope managed a 4+ million-dollar budget comprised of water, sewer, wastewater, solid waste, electricity and general funds. Some of her other responsibilities included coordinating economic development public meetings to encourage residential and commercial development, city council, planning and zoning, and state public library board meetings; managing elections, liquor and medicinal cannabis licenses; approving building permits as the Planning and Zoning and Flood Plain Administrator; and pursuing, writing and staying compliant with grant specifications. She also managed the funding applications for several Clean Water State Revolving Fund Program Projects to improve the water system in Groton. |
