Tyrel Owens


Tyrel Owens, State Field Manager in Wyoming, has over twelve years of experience in municipal water and wastewater operation. Owens joined the team at Midwest Assistance Program in 2020 as a Project Manager/Technical Assistance Provider and was promoted to State Field Manager, Wyoming in October of 2022. He understands the importance of being flexible and open-minded while conducting daily operations and believes that effective communication, customer service, and relationship building are paramount while providing people aid in any circumstance. Owens currently holds four Level 2 licenses in water and wastewater through the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. He has experience in many areas of water and wastewater operations and maintenance.

​In 2008 he received an AAS in Fire Science from Western Dakota Technical Institute and was an active member of a few Volunteer Fire Departments through the years. He is currently serving as a Councilman on the Newcastle Wyoming City Council and finds the experience to be both rewarding and invaluable in how it translates to assisting communities throughout Wyoming.
